Denise Yeng started in the insurance industry in the early 2000’s, with her first insurance job selling travel insurance at BCAA. Today, marketing and business development experience from the Canadian property and casualty insurance industry; contributing a broad perspective to the development of go-to-market strategies having worked with regional, national, and global insurers. As a member of the Cansure executive leadership team, she is focused on customer engagement and sales channel development; ensuring delivery of continuous value for our business partners by bringing a thoughtful approach to sales activities and capturing market opportunities to support targeted growth. Denise has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University, where she majored in Communications. She is also involved in the local insurance community through her participation on the WICC BC Chapter board, and the YIPBC board.

Denise began her insurance career in 2006 as a personal lines underwriter, but quickly moved over to the Business Development stream as that is an area she is most passionate about. Throughout the years, she has cultivated her marketing and business operations acumen having worked progressively senior positions in Business Development for domestic insurers.

Today, Denise is part of the executive management team at Specialty Program Group Canada (SPGC) as Head of Distribution. In this role, Denise has oversight of marketing/advertising, business development, and customer service teams. Having joined initially under the Cansure banner in 2018 as VP Sales and Marketing, she also recently served as Director, Carrier Relations, which provided day to day oversight on carrier and capacity management supporting Cansure, Beacon, and i3 Underwriting.

Outside of her day-to-day responsibilities, Denise is currently a Director on the board of the Canadian Association of MGAs (CAMGA). She has also contributed her personal time on the board of directors of the WICC BC Chapter for 4 years as Communications Chair, as well as Vice Chair on the revived YIPBC board in its inaugural year in 2019. Denise has also been previously recognized by the Insurance Brokers Association of BC as a recipient of the Rising Star award in 2019.
