About the Role:
- Review and underwrite new, renewal and endorsements of moderate-high complexity
- Support underwriting of renewal business for Senior Underwriters
- Manage, strengthen, and grow a book of profitable business
- Quote and authorize business within established corporate guidelines and delegated authority parameters
- Participate in underwriting meetings, formal/informal presentations, and broker visits
- Complete loss reports and post-claim underwriting reviews
- Interact with brokers for all transactions
- Negotiate coverage and price with brokers within capping and deviation authority limits
- Participate, encourage, and build key broker partner relationships
- Attend industry-related seminars and events as necessary

JOB OVERVIEW:
Working as part of a team, you are responsible for analyzing the acceptability of business opportunities according to company guidelines. This includes reviewing and pricing of new submissions, renewal business and endorsements. You will work collaboratively with the team leader, colleagues, and management to provide value added expertise and exceptional service to our broker partners.
As a Junior Underwriter for Commercial Lines, you will help drive the growth and profitability of Cansure. You will build broker relationships and leverage your expertise, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit to build your team’s book. Surrounded by a team of experienced practice leaders, managers, and executives, we provide an extensive array of products, ample capacity, and empowerment to enable your success. In this role, you will work collaboratively with your colleagues and management to provide value added expertise and exceptional service to our broker partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will:
- Review and underwrite new, renewal and endorsements of moderate-high complexity

Overview
As a Senior Underwriter, you will drive the growth and profitability of Cansure. You will leverage existing broker relationships, expertise, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to build your book, within your specialized area of expertise. Surrounded by a team of experienced practice leaders, managers and executives, we provide an extensive array of products, ample capacity and empowerment to enable your success. In this role, your focus is attracting and underwriting new business opportunities while being supported by and mentoring junior staff. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and management to provide value added expertise and exceptional service to our broker partners. Come and run a business within our business!
Responsibilities
- Perform risk analysis using internal and external data resources for the purpose of quoting, negotiating and authorizing the acceptance of risk of a moderate to high complexity, with a focus on new business production;
- Participate in underwriting meetings, formal/informal presentations and broker meetings;
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external parties, including attending industry related seminars and networking events as necessary;
- Negotiate coverage and price with brokers within established corporate guidelines and delegated authority parameters;
- Communicate decisions and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner;
- Manage, strengthen and grow a book of profitable business;
- Maintain compliance with established corporate guidelines and delegated authority parameters;
- Keep accurate records of decisions made and maintain completeness of policy data;
- Complete loss reports and post-claim underwriting reviews; and
- Mentor underwriting staff in general underwriting theory, technical and soft skill fundamentals
Qualifications
You’re a good fit if you have:
- A minimum of 7 years of insurance experience, with at least 3 years in your specialty
- An advanced understanding of commercial underwriting theory and the ability to apply this knowledge in day-to-day practice;
- An entrepreneurial spirit with strong selling and negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to generate revenue growth;
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and value in every interaction;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal;
- Good decisional making and analytical skills;
- Strong organizational skills and a thorough approach to completing tasks;
- A Chartered Insurance Professional designation (CIP) or equivalent;
- A broker license (level 2), or ability to qualify for a license.

NetSuite Developer

Our success has been based upon our leadership, integrity, innovation, and service. We are seeking a NetSuite Developer to join our Technology Operations Team.
Job Description
The NetSuite Developer/Architect will be responsible for the development and implementation of products into NetSuite, including maintenance and enhancements to existing products, customizations, scripts, and workflows.
Responsibilities:
· General NetSuite configuration & administration tasks
· Design, deployment, and management of NetSuite Workflows
· Design, deployment, and management of SuiteScripts
· Analysis of Workflows and SuiteScripts to improve efficiency
· Data migration, manipulations and conversions
· Configuration of Custom Records, Custom Fields, and Custom Forms
· Record creation including product set up
· Installation and maintenance of NetSuite bundles
· Creation of saved searches and reports
· Regular evaluation of the NetSuite implementation in order to identify and address outstanding issues, and provide recommended optimizations.
Requirements:
· Minimum four years’ general programming experience
· Proficient with JavaScript, XML, and JSON
· Excellent working knowledge of SQL or OracleSQL
· Experience with Git
· System implementation and system integration experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience implementing and administrating ERP/CRM systems
· Able to manage timelines
· Team player with project related experience
Preferred:
· NetSuite Administrator Certification
· SuiteCloud Developer Certification
