Underwriting Manager, Personal Lines (Eastern Canada)
Tia Becker is based in Cansure’s Toronto office where she is an Underwriting Manager for Personal Lines (Eastern Canada). She has an extensive insurance background which spans over 18 years. Her primary focus has been on Personal Lines where she specializes in hard to place, high net worth and high value property risks. Some of her experience includes working for a national insurer and managing general agent where Tia worked directly with various Lloyds Syndicates. Tia has received her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and is currently working towards completing her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) accreditation. As an active member within the Insurance Institute, Tia sits as member on the John E. Lowes scholarship committee.
Carolyn Rennie is currently an underwriter and Team Lead with Cansure Underwriting in Salmon Arm working with non-standard habitation risks such as mobile homes. Originally underwriting Special Events, Contents in Storage, Hole in One and Vendor Liability Policies Carolyn had a keen interest in underwriting Mobile Homes due to her experience in personal lines risks. She joined Cansure and moved into the world of underwriting in 2019 after working as a senior personal lines broker in 2017. Carolyn has completed CAIB’s 1, 2 and 3 to get her Level 2 General Insurance licence. Originally from Toronto, she was introduced to the insurance industry in 2014. Finding a career that would keep her challenged and engaged while also promoting a work-life balance and her passion for the great outdoors is what drew Carolyn to move to Salmon Arm, BC. Carolyn obtained her Masters of Science degree in Earth Space Science Engineering in 2015 and Honours Bachelors of Science in Earth and Atmospheric Science, Certificate in Meteorology and Certificate in GIS in 2012 at York University.
Specialist Personal Lines Underwriter
Krystal Taylor’s career in the Insurance industry spans 15 years, during which she obtained her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation and increasing portfolios of responsibility. She started her career as an auto insurance broker on Vancouver Island in 2003, progressing to the Personal Lines department where she managed her own portfolio of accounts. Before joining Cansure in 2011, Krystal’s last role included travelling to various offices on Vancouver Island to train staff on operating systems, practices and procedures. Krystal is now a Specialist Personal Lines Underwriter working in Cansure’s Langley branch.

Nathan Tjandrawinata has over a decade of combined Personal Lines experience, working in both the standard and non-standard marketplace. Additionally, Nathan holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics. He understands that unlike the standard market, Cansure is here to help fit square pegs into round holes. Coupling deep expertise with a passion for service Nathan has built strong relationships with his broker customers by delivering custom solutions for challenging risks.
