<strong>Ed Quek</strong>
Ed QuekVice President, Commercial Lines
Ed Quek has more than 25 years of commercial underwriting and management experience in the Insurance industry. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in Finance and Marketing, he started his insurance career in Toronto with the Sovereign General Insurance Company. Choosing to be closer to family, Ed moved back to Vancouver after several years and has since held progressive underwriting and management positions at Intact, Aviva, CNA and Economical Insurance. Ed joined Cansure in 2014 as an Underwriting Manager and helped with the growth and development of many commercial insurance products. Today, he oversees all of Cansure’s Commercial Lines as Vice President and works with the company’s 20 Commercial Lines Practice Leaders to develop and enhance their products so that Cansure maintains a leadership position in the marketplace, driven by a culture of innovation and execution. Ed is a fountain of knowledge of all aspects of the insurance industry and is a great contact to assist and support brokers.

<strong>Carlos Centeno</strong>
Carlos CentenoAssistant Vice President, Construction
Carlos Centeno joined Cansure in 2018 where he was instrumental in successfully developing the firm’s Cannabis offering, and subsequently assumed the responsibility of Branch Manager in the Toronto office. He now serves as an Assistant Vice President for Commercial Lines and Constuction. Before Cansure, Carlos served as a Property and Casualty Underwriter for Fortune 500 companies and large Construction projects in Canada, the United States, and Latin America. He was also a Captive Manager in Bermuda for the top ten largest Captive companies globally. His professional path has also included the creation and management of facultative reinsurance units in Toronto and NYC, specializing in international programs. Carlos holds a Business Degree, and is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) in Canada and Germany.

<strong>Hans Choi</strong>
Hans ChoiTeam Leader, Construction
Hans Choi began his insurance career at Cansure in July 2016 after graduating from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, specializing in Finance and Human Resources. Started off as an Underwriting Assistant, Hans has progressively held various positions throughout the years, and now as a Team Leader and Senior Underwriter. Hans has gathered his underwriting experience by working on a variety of P&C risks, including construction, contractors, trades, and commercial and residential realty. He has established a solid working relationship with a range of brokers across Canada, working with each of them to find solutions, no matter the complexity of the risk. Hans also manages the Equipment Breakdown practice, and is responsible for the design and development of products within the practice. Hans is a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and holds the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation.
<strong>Leah Brambly</strong>
Leah BramblySenior Underwriter, Construction
Leah Brambleby started her insurance career in 2008 and joined Cansure in 2010. Since then, Leah has progressed from being an Underwriting Assistant to her current role as a Senior Underwriter for Commercial Lines. In this position, she has worked on general property and casualty accounts, seeing a wide variety of risks over the years. She now specializes in our construction segment. Leah holds her Charted Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designations.
<strong>Shirley Phillips</strong>
Shirley PhillipsSenior Underwriter, Construction
Shirley Phillips has been with Cansure for 15 years as a senior Underwriter for Commercial Lines. She has a breadth of knowledge from her 40+ years of experience in the insurance industry and has a strong background in the construction segment. Throughout her career in the field, Shirley has worked as an underwriter and a broker, allowing her to build solid relationships with her clients and other insurance professionals. She looks forward to working with brokers and attend to their insurance needs.
