Senior Underwriter

Leah Brambleby started her insurance career in 2008 and joined Cansure in 2010. Since then, Leah has progressed from being an Underwriting Assistant to her current role as a Senior Underwriter for Commercial Lines. In this position, she has worked on general property and casualty accounts, seeing a wide variety of risks over the years. She now specializes in our construction segment. Leah holds her Charted Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designations.

Shirley Phillips has been with Cansure for 15 years as a senior Underwriter for Commercial Lines. She has a breadth of knowledge from her 40+ years of experience in the insurance industry and has a strong background in the construction segment. Throughout her career in the field, Shirley has worked as an underwriter and a broker, allowing her to build solid relationships with her clients and other insurance professionals. She looks forward to working with brokers and attend to their insurance needs.

Branch Manager Toronto Office

Alan Tam began his insurance career with The Co-Operators in 2004. Since then, he has developed his broad industry expertise and underwriting skills through his experience working at a direct insurance company, as well as being a broker. Alan’s strong underwriting eye allows him to assist our broker partners with all types of risks, complementing his focus on Small to Medium Enterprise accounts, as well as Forestry, and Mining. He is also experienced in handling Lloyd’s placements and other complex accounts. Alan joined Cansure’s Toronto team in 2015 as a Senior Underwriter; today he is now an Underwriting Manager at the Toronto branch. Alongside his leadership role Alan continues to be involved with day-to-day underwriting and mentoring or junior underwriting team.
